Oleksandr Shamsur (41) is a hairdresser by profession and runs his own hair cutting salon. He has one more quality. That Shamsur runs a salon during the day and works for his country's army at night. At night, their job is to shoot down drones coming from Russia.

On 24 February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine. Since then, Russian missiles and drones have been attacking many cities of Ukraine. People like Alexander retaliate to stop them.

Shamsur is a member of the Territorial Defense Unit (Local Defense Unit). Some lawyers and businessmen are also included in this unit. When there is a small missile or drone attack from Russia, they get an alert. After this, these people try to kill him with the special machine gun or any other weapon they have. Recently he shot down Iran's Shahed-136 drone. Russia has bought this drone from Iran.

Oleksandr says- I am very happy. The reason for this is that I am working for my country, trying to protect it. After all, we are saving our own people.

Shamsur's unit has thermal cameras. They work easily at night. They are installed on the roof of tall buildings. A Soviet-era Maxim machine gun is also installed nearby. After seeing a small missile or drone with a thermal camera, it is targeted with this machine gun.

Oleksandr says- I have returned from my salon some time back and wearing uniform came to my unit. I know what to do here. I am not one of those people who are timid and run away from trouble. If the enemy is standing at your doorstep, then you should fight him.

 Shamsur shot down two drones in one night:

We were on duty on the night of 29 and 30 December. Our unit was stationed on a tall building. That's why 2 drone attacks were done on our capital Kiev from Russia. We killed both of them.

This soldier has a special uniform. He has two bandages on his arm. It is written on them – Drone Hunters Unit. Earlier he was working in the office of the Proper Defense Unit. This office was destroyed in the bombing of Russia. After this he joined the Territorial Unit. Oleksandr Shamsur says- I do not talk about drone hunting with my clients in the salon.
